Capabilities
Swansboro Rescue has one of the largest response areas in Onslow
County. The squad primary function in the county is to provide
vehicle extrication and assist in other special types of rescue.
Swansboro Rescue uses and proudly stands by Amkus and TNT extrication
equipment.
- Medium Rescue
- Swansboro EMS/RESCUE is a North Carolina state certified Medium
Rescue Provider as of August 14, 2005. Our medium rescue truck
is a 2000 Ford F-650 Super Duty. It's primary function is
extrication at the scene of motor vehicle accidents.

- Quick Response Vehicle
- Our crash/rescue QRV is a Quad Cab Dodge Dakota. It is used to
transport personnel to a major scene or can handle a second call if
the medium rescue truck is already out. It is capable of handing
a simple rook and door removal. It is stocked with a portable
gas 2 stage hydraulic pump, TNT combination tool, saw zaw, small
generator and a basic first aid kit.

- Trauma Assistance
- All of our rescue apparatus is equipped with trauma bags with enough
medical equipment to handle a trauma until Paramedics can arrive. The
rescue truck is additionally equipped with long back boards and full
c-spine immobilization kits.

- Utility Trailer
- The utility trailer is stocked for basic high angle rescues and
carries a full compliment of addition cribbing for major event. This
unit can be pulled by either Quick Response Vehicle (QRV).
